A hotel to elevate your Rip Experience

The hotel is located in a great location between Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. The staff cleans the room a couple of times a day, so you are always welcomed with a fresh room, and there is always water in the fridge. The breakfast and pool area have a phenomenal view, and the staff is very attentive. The gym is great. I can hardly compare this experience to any other hotel experience I have ever had. It would change your trip and experience.

We enjoyed the pool/bar/outdoor restaurant both during the day and at night with the live entertainment. It goes without saying that the wonderful personnel pushed our experience from good to great. The sea view rooms are a must for a priceless and breathtaking view of Copacabana! From the doormen (Tuca, Alfredo, Gustavo, Wesley, Italo, Farias, Silvio), to the housekeeping (Miriam), the concierge, the Spirit Copa bar team (Giovanna and Cassia), and Anderson from Tropik - they made our experience wonderful.

Stayed at the Fairmont for two nights, we had booked a sea view room and if we looked hard we could see the sea from our corner room. The room that we were given was an "accessable" room and therefor had pleanty of space, there was a sofa to relax on as well as a comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was large, due to teh accessability and teh sink and toilet were not at a silly height so there were no issues. Overall, the room provided a comfortable stay. Breakfast was a nice affair, sat on the balcolny outside the breakfast facility overlooking the great Cococabana beach and teh rolling waves. There was pleanty of choice for breakfast also and teh staff wer emost helpful. The main issue for me was the safe that is in th eroom, it was not bolted down and could be easily removed, which provided a concern when we left thisngs in it. I raised this with reception and was advised all teh rooms were the same, which i observed in two rooms for myself. Whats the point of a safe if it can be removed?? This is crazy and should be rectified.

It’s a 4 star at most hotel, nothing to do with luxury …

Gold lounge staffs were great and professional , other than that the hotel has nothing to do with luxury nor the Fairmont brand. They are still using old Sofitel’s towels n duvet in some rooms . It’s worn out n dirty!!! And please be aware that they dun care about your Accor status at all. Apparently their system is not linked to Accor system.
